Holy crap. The Tallest Man on Earth (a.k.a. Kristian Matsson, who I’ve professed my love for before) has just taken Paul Simon’s “Graceland” and stripped it right down to its absolutely naked, heartbreaking core. The 1986 original (which Simon has said is the best song he’s ever written) was penned on a trip to Graceland following his divorce with actress Carrie Fisher. Unable to shake Kristian’s gorgeous interpretation, I’m beginning to realize that I never really listened to the lyrics properly; all of a sudden I’m hearing this song in a whole new way.
