sing until you have no voice / sing because you have no choice

It’s nice to see the usually poppy and chipper Hey Ocean stripped down in a quiet setting like this. “Big Blue Wave” is a song taken from the Vancouver trio’s upcoming third album which is set to be released in the coming months. They have also made the album’s first single, “Make A New Dance Up,” available for download — and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t make me wanna dance!

That handsome fellow strumming at the front is David Vertesi, who you might remember me gushing over in the past. He released one of the best albums of last year that not nearly enough people paid attention to (I’m looking at you, Polaris Music Prize). You should watch his new video for the haunting slow-builder “Learn to Run,” which was filmed by the same folks as the above Hey Ocean vid over at Amazing Factory Productions. Head over to David’s website to download more tracks.
